Planting promise

With a name like Bloom, as you’d expect, we are committed to doing our bit for the environment as individuals, and as a business.

It’s difficult to ignore the continuing changes to our climate, and we are always looking for ways in which we can make a difference, no matter how big or small.

When we were thinking about ways in which we could do some good, we wanted to choose a cause that was rooted in our beliefs, but also served in some way to impact the learner. We decided what better way to do this than to plant some trees and watch them Bloom!

We don’t think we need to explain to you why trees are great for the environment, but you might ask why is this good for the learner?

The brain requires about 20 percent of your body’s total oxygen – and even more when your brain is in thinking mode. Research carried out at the Human Cognitive Neuroscience unit at the University of Northumbria, shows that mental performance can be greatly improved by inhaling pure oxygen. While we can’t make the learning pump out pure oxygen, we can do our bit to improve the quality of the oxygen in the world.

So...for every project we work on, we will donate a tree (or more, depending on the size of your project) to a selected charity. Each quarter, we will choose a different charity and we will include the details of this in your proposal so you can see where your trees are.

Charity examples include:

Moor Trees is an independent charity dedicated to restoring native woodland on Dartmoor and in South Devon.

One Tree Planted is a non-profit organisation focused on global reforestation.

If you’ve got a local tree charity you’d like to support as part of your project, please let us know. We’ll try and get that brain feeding oxygen as close to your learners as we can!
